REGULATIONS

1. RULES

The PORTUGAL OPEN P&P will be held in accordance with the rules approved by R&A Rules Limited, the Conditions of Competition and Permanent Local Rules for P&P of the FPG (Portuguese Golf Federation) and IPPA, and the Local Rules established by the Technical Committee.

2. COMPETITION

54-hole Stroke Play:

  • March 21: 1st Round (18 holes)
  • March 21: 2nd Round (18 holes)
  • March 22: 3rd Round (18 holes | top 40 players and ties)

3. PARTICIPATION

The event is open to all players affiliated with the Portuguese Golf Federation or equivalent foreign Federations.

4. ENTRIES

The maximum number of entries is 80 players. The organization reserves 15 entries for its own invitation.

In the event that entries exceed the established limit, the exclusion criteria will be the highest P&P handicap. In case of a tie, the date and time of the entry receipt will be considered.

5. ENTRY FEE

  • General Fee: €65
  • Juniors (up to 21) and Ladies: €50

6. PRIZES

General Category:

  • 1st General (Artist Trophy + Gift)
  • 2nd General (Trophy + Gift)
  • 3rd General (Trophy + Gift)

Specific Categories:

  • 1st Junior (Trophy + Gift)
  • 1st Mid-Amateur (Trophy + Gift)
  • 1st Senior (Trophy + Gift)
  • 1st Lady (Trophy + Gift)

NOTE: Prizes are not cumulative. Category prizes will only be awarded if there is a minimum of 5 entries in that specific category.

7. TIES

In the event of a tie for first place overall, the tie-breaker will be a “sudden death” playoff, played in accordance with IPPA rules.

For all other positions, ties will be broken by the best last 36, 27, 18, 9, 6, 3, and final hole scores, successively. If the tie persists, it will be resolved by a draw.

8. PROHIBITIONS

  • Caddies are not permitted.
  • Players are not permitted to smoke during a conventional round.

9. PRIZE-GIVING CEREMONY

Sunday, March 22, at the conclusion of the tournament, followed by the closing speech in honor of the participants. Attendance of the winners is mandatory at the prize-giving ceremony.

10. COMPETITION RESULTS – COMPETITION CLOSED

The competition results are considered officially closed once the final results sheet has been posted on the designated scoreboard.

11. CANCELLATION AND AMENDMENT OF REGULATIONS

At any time, the Technical Committee may: supplement or amend these regulations; suspend or cancel any of the rounds; or annul/cancel the Championship.

12. MISCONDUCT

No form of misconduct will be tolerated. The Technical Committee reserves the right to take appropriate action.

13. TECHNICAL COMMITTEE AND REFEREES

These will be appointed in due course by the Portuguese Golf Federation.

Unless a different penalty is specified, the violation of any condition established in these regulations will result in the disqualification of the player.

Any cases not covered by these Regulations will be decided definitively by the Tournament Technical Committee.
