History of the Amendoeira Golf Club
Amendoeira Golf Resort, Algarve
The Amendoeira Clube de Golfe, was founded on January 22, 2016, 8 years after the inauguration of the Faldo Course and Christy O´Connor Jnr Course, located at the Amendoeira Golf Resort in Alcantarilha.
Its founders were: Christopher Howell, Heitor Tomás, Maria Tucker, Ana Portada, Rita Santos, Tiago Francisco, Nelson Cavalheiro, Cláudia Gonçalves, Tiago Santos, Carla Nobre, Susana Fernandes, Marco Guerreiro and Mónica Correia.
The Golf Club emerged as a fundamental part in the organization of tournaments and the legalization and certification of handicaps, playing an important and dynamic role in sports practice, promoting and dignifying competition and training of players.
The main objective in the constitution of Amendoeira Clube de Golfe was to disseminate and develop the Golf modality among the younger strata of the Silves region, and to support its members in the practice of this modality.
